Company B, 55th Armored Infantry Battalion, 11th Armored
Division, he was serving with Gen. Patton’s 3rd Army and
was killed during the German break-through only 12 days
after his arrival on the European continent.
Son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Burner, he was graduated from Tustin
Union high school with
the class of 1943 and had the distinction of being one of
5 alumni of the school having an almost straight “A” record.
He entered Army service in Aug., 1943, and received training
at Fort Benning., and
Camp Cooke. His departure for overseas duty was in Sept.,
1944.
