Died Aug. 14, 1944, of injuries received in a crash in the
Italian theatre eight days previously
He lost his life only a few weeks after he left July 10,
1944, for over seas service
as a P-38 pilot of the 1st Fighter group, 71st Fighter Squadron.
He
was awarded a Presidential unit citation. Son of Mr. and
Mrs. Paul C. Kimball,
he attended Tustin elementary and high schools and was graduated
in 1939.
On Feb. 5, 1942, he entered Army Air Forces service and
received training at
Santa Ana Army Air base, Dos Palos Eagle field, Le Moore
field, and Luke field, Ariz.
